Fairy Tale Puppet Shows

Room 4 have been reading fairy tales. And today in our Cybersmart lesson we started making a puppet show with a fairy tale we know. What is your favourite fairy tale?

We used Explain Everything on our iPads. We made puppets with the characters in the story. We had to learn how to use the scalpel tool to cut carefully around the characters. Then we recorded our voices and moved the characters like in a puppet show.

Do you know who else uses a scalpel? If you have been to hospital and had an operation you will know.

Here is Luca's work from today.

This is a work in progress. Room 4 will finish these during the week.

  1. Hi Makauri School,

It is Neha from Harris Class here.

It reminded me of when we did some backgrounds in Explain Everything and made them into animations. I liked how your queen was dressed up. Next time you could do a background.

  4. Hi Room 4,

I like the title at the beginning because it's like she is reading a real book. That is my favourite story. We use to have it at home.
Did you guys use a book for the title? The story reminds me of our work but it's an animation. I would love to do one. How did you guys do that?
Next time, you could add a background to your animations. How about the inside of a castle background?

    Kia orana Room 4,

I like how you put the mirror on the wall and pretended that the mirror is reflecting the mother. How did you do that?

    1. Kia ora Malia,
the mirror is actually a picture from the fairy tale book. We took photos of the pages and used the scalpel tool to cut them out and put on the pages.
What fairy tale is your favourite?

I really like how you retell the story. It reminds me of fairy tales and the book Snow white. Next time you could cover up the white space.
